The world outside of matched betting

Recommended Posts

What does everyone do outside of matched betting?

I've currently spent years in retail and bar work, which seems to have dried up and full time positions are few and far between (why have full timers when you can have lots of part timers). Currently doing this as a top up to help tide me over whilst looking for a career change.

Interested to see what people do in the 'real world'? From groups I've seen it's a very diverse group that do matched betting.

I'm a restaurant owner. Business is doing ok ish. As I work mainly in the evenings I dont get to see my kids a lot.

My plan is to make about 100k so I can buy the freehold to the building and the hopefully sell the business on a long lease and live off the rent!!

Thanks for posting this @Lorelei definitely will be interesting 🙂

Which industry are you thinking of moving into out of interest? Hopefully there'll be a fellow member in that career who can help!

Very nice Azad I find restaurants very interesting, if you can build up a good reputation it seems like restaurants can go very well and hopefully matched betting can help contribute towards saving up your £100k goal.

I spend Mon-Fri working on the team profit website and then do a bit of matched betting (either during work hours or in the evenings or weekends) and enjoy playing golf, catching up with family/friends, fantasy football and my new interest I'm looking to focus on is cooking, I love food but my dishes are very limited at the moment 😄

Great thread! I hope the career change goes well for you Lorelei! And good luck with the business Azad! 🙂

I work on the site throughout the week and also squeeze in Matched Betting throughout the day (plenty of price boosts!), as well as in the evenings occasionally (low risk casino offers,  2up, anything else that hasn't been done). I'm also a gamer and sometimes stream on twitch in the evening for a bit of fun!
Come the weekend I normally go and watch live music with friends and have a few beers, and then recover Sunday ready to start the week again! 😄

Good luck with the business Azad! Hospitality is definitely a great industry, but like you said, only evenings can take it's toll!

@Chris Harvey I am looking at getting into the travel industry. Its one of my biggest passions and the main reason i'm matched betting. Looking at taking a year off and travelling and working all around the world, Europe, Asia, South America, basically everywhere. So far i've never even been on a plane or to an airport!

@Tom Portlock Sounds like a great week! I can definitely see the twitch streaming, lol. That was my first money making idea, if only to cover a new game every so often. Who knows, maybe from this i'll be able to upgrade to a 2080 GPU, lol.

That sounds fantastic! I can only say 'go for it' really. I've loved the bits and bobs of travel that I've done.

What I love at the moment, I go to Tenerife once or twice a year, and camp on a cliff top near the beach. It's technically illegal to camp out, but as long as you stay out of the way, away from the tourist beaches, the police aren't bothered. I just love camping out away from the towns, the stars above me, the sound of the waves. Walk to the nearest town and pick up a few bits of fruit for breakfast. Wake with the sun and go to sleep with the moon... 🙂

Hey Tom, great site btw.

Do you make a full-time income from match betting, 2ups etc? I'd love to be in that position!

Ben

Twitch is brilliant! But Matched Betting is far better money. I'm sure after a few 2ups you'll be able to upgrade your setup 10x over haha 🙂

Hey Ben,

Thanks for the compliments! 🙂

I did for a few years yes - and I still do - however I'm currently working at Team Profit now. Matched Betting full time is great but it's also great to actually be in an office and speak to people at times 😄 I now get the best of both worlds 😛 give me a shout if you need any advice

I'm a kitchen Extraction cleaner.

Matched betting is a great way to make a few extra quid. And a lot easier than having to crawl through ducting!

I've always been a bit scared of the water rides where you go down a tube, so I think I'd be pretty terrible at crawling through the ducting 😄

Great to hear @BWFC1988 that matched betting is helping you to make a few extra quid keep smashing up those bookies!!

Outside of matched betting I’m a full time mummy to my 2 children 7 and 2. Juggling this and being mum is a challenging job 🤪

Hi all I’m new to matched betting, just started last week. For my day job I work as a cementer Offshore in the oil industry and  when I get a bit of free time I enjoy playing golf and flying my drone.

I’m currently on the sick for six months as having ankle surgery tomorrow afternoon. £70 odd doesn’t really help anyone survive a week so using my MB profits to help subsidise living at the moment.

I always used to waste a lot of money on horses before MB too so this helps, I get to watch my horse racing and football whilst making money instead of blowing it. Win, win 😊.

I'm a swimming coach and parent to 3 teen boys who are all very very active. Last year I took a back seat to the coaching and realized I was bored and still needed to fund the boys sporting dreams.  I'm getting back into coaching again though due to lack of coaches in our area which is making mbing a bit difficult on weekends and in the evenings (2ups!!!).  I managed to convince another swimming parent to take up mbing and together we make a great team helping find good offers and keeping each other motivated on slow/bad days!

I’m a bit of a jack of all trades, my wife calls me Chandler as nobody really gets what I do 😂

Started off as an electronics engineer specialising in consumer electronic repairs and then moved on to becoming an operations engineer for a large payment system company. I specialised in payment compliance and now work for a large financial institution basically in a analyst/consultancy role making sure they remain compliant to international standards.

I also keep my hand in the electronics side of things and run a small Apple Repairs workshop which ticks along..

MB I had heard about from a couple of friends and I was a just a regular mug as never really understood it, so glad my good friend pushed me into learning it, its helped I a lot recently financially.

In real life I work full time in a primary school office which is both demanding and entertaining in equal measure.  Public sector pay is pretty dire so matched betting helps top up my salary, I like to think of it as my "having fun" money.  And I don't have to go to work during most of the school holidays so I have plenty of free time to catch up on all the offers I miss out on while I'm at work.

I'm a retail manager at a big (blue) supermarket. Coming up to the busiest week of the year so mb has taken a back seat the last month or too.

I'm not spending any of my mb money until I have a big enough bank I'm happy with, then i'll just take the money for emergencies if i need it.

I work part time as a PA/carer and I am volunteer hospital chaplain.  My husband is retired now and we try and take a lot of holidays (82 days this year) funded in part by match betting.

We play indoor bowls in 2 leagues and we are learning ballroom and sequence dancing.  We enjoy watching energetic sports such as football and rugby and lot of snooker on the TV.  Hopefully some of our love of sport is helping with our bet choices.  We are both volunteers for the Cricket World Cup next year having been to the West Indies to follow England in a previous World Cup.

In our spare time we get to see our 4 young grandchildren.

I'm a former teacher but escaped the classroom 11 years ago (hurray!) and now tutor two evenings a week.

We've six children and the two youngest, twins aged 10, are home educated, so I'm often out and about or doing things with them when I'm not MB ....but occasionally I'm free during the day for extra offers.

It's been a great year. Our MB fund has already paid for our annual family holiday in Spain and we've yet to complete all the offers.  We're looking forward to a bit of extra time over Christmas to try to do those now our bank roll is a bit bigger.
