Who have you been gubbed by? Please vote!

This thread is for anything and everything gubbing related. Getting gubbed from a bookmaker can feel like the end of the world when infact it's really not!
Firstly, what is a gubbing? A gubbing is when a bookmaker stops you from receiving free bets and promotions (which is how we make our money!). They do this normally because you've taken too much value/free bets, or you've been arbing them. It happens to everyone at some point and some bookies, such as Betway are more notorious for gubbings than others.

(Please note gubbing and stake restrictions are different. Some bookies will lower your max stake but you'll still be allowed promos. Others will promo gub you but you can still do decent stakes).

What do you do when you're gubbed? Well, gubbed accounts can still be useful! The main thing you can do with them is ARB them. We wouldn't normally advise arbing, but seeing as you're no longer allowed promos then you might as well make some extra money out of them. You can also target their casino offers providing they're profitable!

So don't let gubbings get you down. It happens and it's part of the package with Matched Betting. There are plenty of other websites you can make money off, and even if you've lost most of the main ones there are still many ways you can be earning a decent profit each month - believe me!
The main thing to remember is that there is ALWAYS something you can be doing, and everyone in this post is in the same boat. So feel free to let us know who you've been gubbed from, share some advice on how to profit and use these accounts, and maybe vent some frustration too (keep it clean though! 1f642.png🙂 ).

I'd be curious to know if anyone had trouble withdrawing after a gubbing /restriction. The t&c usually state they can remove winning's etc at their discretion and clearly outline bonus abuse etc. I've not had any problems yet but i do worry as the bookie balance tends to build and then I get gubbed.

  • Thanks 1

I've never heard of anyone ever having this issue to be honest. The only time I've ever heard of funds being confiscated is when the bookies suspect foul play i.e. multi accounting/fraud.

I've recently been gubbed by Betfair Arcade; it was my first gubbing.

They got a lot of people unfortunately - and some people said they'd never even used them before. Very odd!

Just curious to know if exchanges gubb account too? Just anxious as I lay my bet as per the calculator which is always an odd figure like 18.73,11.52, 10.67, etc.? Is it fine? What would you recommend?

Exactly what Steve has said above. The exchanges make money from you using them and so don't care about what bets you place 🙂

They got me - they sent an invite and before I had logged in to look at the offer I was gubbed. Weird but true.

I love the idea of this forum. there are not many places I feel I can trust for information.... Keep it it.

It was probably my own fault as I used to do a lot of the Arcade offers everyday, as they were convienient and relatively low risk; forces me to learn more and develop strategies in other areas now though.

Ah perhaps then! I wouldn't miss them too much though, there's plenty more ways to make money 🙂

I got a message in Quidco yesterday morning that my Gentings transaction had tracked ( joined 19th Sep)  then a few hours later a gubbing from Gentings, same happened with Betway,  Do you think going through Quidco is a red flag that you are a bonus hunter/matched better.  On the plus side, I decided to play the £3 I had left in Gentings on the slots as you need £10 to make a withdraw and I won £30.

I got gubbed from betway and think it may be due to signing up through topcashback. I have heard that betway gub easily. I only use topcashback for casino offers as i dont really do slots yet.

I got gubbed by my most profitable bookie in May. I had made over £300 from free bets they kept throwing at me because all my qualifying and £25 free bets kept losing.

Then, one day in May, Aldershot were playing Maidenhead Utd. Aldershot scored the winner in the 93rd minute I think it was so finally won a bet with Betway. Following week came the dreaded 'vote of confidence' "You're Gubbed"😥

I've just started using Paddy after using Sky/Coral/Lads/Will hill mainly. I'm treating them with kid gloves to be honest! But my question is - if I'm only using Sky for the bet club  - sooner rather than later they're going to gub me? I also use the casino and Vegas when offers are on but not ventured into horses as yet (although next on the list). Just wondering if placing exactly £25 worth of bets each week must stick out like a sore thumb?!

This is why I haven't jumped on Paddy and 365 with huge bets on 2ups as they've been dormant since completing the sign ups a couple of months ago! Doesn't help that every single one of my bets yesterday won into Sky, Wills and Paddy! 😮

Lost Betway and Ladbrokes this morning.  Betway have stake restricted me to £4.44!  I mean what sort of figure is that!  Also I can't access any of the casino offers even though I'd never done any casino with them.   They haven't sent me an email either.

Ladbrokes on the other hand have sent me an email.  No free bets, bogs, boosts and a stake restriction.  Has anyone who has been gubbed been able to do casino?

Plenty more fish in the sea I suppose.

It's official! I have had my first gubbing! Sportingbet. Only placed my trigger bet and SNR bet with them within a week, and got my gubbing email today. Just curious as to who else is pasrt of the same company, and who I can expect to be gubbed from.

Also, I haven't completed all the welcome offers. What happens if you've been gubbed from a bookie, and then sign up with a bookie under the same company later on? Will you instantly be gubbed? Is it worth even doing the sign up offer, or will you place your trigger bet and not be eligible for the free bet (get gubbed before its been credited). Obviously to me its worth giving it a go as the QL is worth the risk, but, is it likely to happen?

Just been gubbed by Betway this afternoon.

What a mickey mouse outfit they are! I've been a member for 4 weeks. My backed bets with them lost for the first 3 weeks. Week 4 I won roughly £150 - now I'm exempt from all promotions...

They've limited me to the exact same stake, which just happens to be slightly less than the minimum £5 bet you need to place to qualify for their bet £5, get £5 promotion.

Coincidence!?

Must concede that Hills are quite nice about gubbing you as they still seem to give you free bets every weekend on Scratch of the Day.

Yep if you can opt in you are normally still ok. Plus you can do all the casino offers, generally speaking 🙂
